Marlen International

Gentle by design. Twin-piston pumping that moves whole-muscle and delicate product with its shape, particle definition, and yield intact.

About Marlen International

Marlen International has been building twin-piston pumping and vacuum-stuffing systems since 1953, and today is part of the Duravant family of food-processing companies. Its Opti Series is engineered around a single idea: move product without damaging it. A patented twin-piston and sleeve design eliminates metal-to-metal contact inside the pump chamber, so product moves with its particle definition and integrity intact — and with far less wear than conventional pumps.

That gentle, zero-slip handling is what makes Marlen the choice for whole-muscle and large-particulate product. IPE applies it where product shape and yield are the whole point: seafood fillets and portions, delicate cuts, and other high-value product that a rougher pump would tear or smear.

Marlen International FAQ

What makes Marlen's twin-piston pump gentle on product?

A patented twin-piston and sleeve design eliminates metal-to-metal contact in the pump chamber and avoids the liquid-phase slippage of rotary pumps, so product keeps its particle definition and integrity.

What throughput do Marlen Opti pumps handle?

The Opti Series ranges from the compact Opti 70 at 7,000 lbs/hr up to the Opti 340 at 34,000 lbs/hr, with pumping pressures up to 250 psi on the larger models.

Is Marlen only for meat?

No. While it is best known for whole-muscle and deli meats, the same gentle twin-piston handling suits seafood fillets and portions and delicate produce, wherever product shape and yield matter.
